Food & business consultancy

Better decisions. Stronger food businesses.

Independent consultancy for food strategy, menu performance, kitchen operations and growth. Delivered by WGR’s in-house team, with no obligation to manufacture with us.

Expertise you can engage independently

A fresh perspective.
A practical plan.

Book WGR for consultancy alone. You do not need to manufacture with us.

A strong menu needs a workable operation behind it. Our team brings restaurant experience, culinary understanding and commercial judgement to the decisions shaping your food business.

We start with your objectives and agree the project scope, fees, deliverables and responsibilities before work begins. The recommendation may involve changes in your own kitchen, your existing supply arrangements or a different production approach.

You choose what to implement and who produces your food.

Where we can help

Decisions grounded in your operation.

01

Food strategy & concept development

For a new food business, a changing proposition or an established operation deciding what comes next.

We explore your audience, competitive landscape, food identity and commercial priorities. Workshops turn broad ambitions into decisions about the offer and the work needed to deliver it.

Your project output

A concept brief, agreed food direction and prioritised action plan.

02

Menu performance & profitability

For operators who want a clearer picture of what their menu earns and what it takes to deliver.

We review your sales mix, recipe costs, portions, yields and preparation requirements. Using the information you share, we identify dishes to retain, refine or reconsider, and opportunities to simplify ingredients and preparation.

Your project output

A menu review, costed recommendations and a plan for testing improvements.

03

Kitchen operations & efficiency

For kitchens where preparation, complexity or inconsistent practices put pressure on service.

We review workflow, equipment use, team responsibilities and preparation methods. Recommendations consider the food you want to serve and the practical conditions your people work in.

Your project output

A prioritised operational improvement plan, with agreed guidance and training support.

04

Supply planning & business growth

For businesses preparing for new locations, higher demand or a different production model.

We assess sourcing, ordering, production responsibilities and supply arrangements. We help you consider what to prepare on site, what to centralise and how changes affect your people, costs and delivery needs.

Your project output

A practical growth roadmap with responsibilities, dependencies and next steps.

Ongoing consultancy

Work with WGR across an agreed programme of menu reviews, seasonal development or operational improvement. Scope and fees are agreed for your business.

Clear scope. The right expertise.

WGR delivers its consultancy, culinary development and operational support in-house. Nutritional testing, photography, branding and packaging services are outside our scope. Where these are needed, we can recommend external specialists for you to engage separately.

Does consultancy commit us to manufacturing with WGR?

No. Consultancy is a standalone paid service. You can implement the recommendations in your own operation or with your chosen suppliers. Any WGR manufacturing arrangement is agreed separately.

Can you guarantee a margin improvement?

Results depend on your starting point, operating data and implementation. We assess the opportunities, explain our assumptions and agree how progress should be measured, rather than promise a fixed saving.

What should we bring to a first discussion?

Your objectives and main challenges are enough to begin. For a detailed review, we may agree access to menus, recipe costs, sales information, site observations and operating processes. Sensitive information can be discussed under agreed confidentiality arrangements.

A conversation is where it starts

What would you like your food business to do better?

A business challenge, a new menu or a production brief. Tell us what you want to achieve. We’ll help you identify the right support.
